Your first step onto the sand as a lifesaver, starting at 13. You will learn skills and knowledge related to surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations, communication systems and equipment and resuscitation.

    Participants can commence the online learning for the course via the eLearning application through the SLS Members Area – Dashboard.

    You will need to be a member of the City of Perth SLSC.

  • This course is the entry level patrolling award for our youngest members (aged at least 13 yrs). It covers surf skills and knowledge of surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations and resuscitation in order to participate in lifesaving operations, join a Patrol and act as Water Safety.

  • It be eligible to obtain your SRC award you must be a financial member of the club and be 13 years of age at the time of assessment.

  • For the Surf Rescue Certificate award to remain current, you must participate in an annual skills maintenance session and be assessed as proficient prior to 31 December each year.
